Dear Silk Saree ladies,

Don’t you feel uncomfortable wearing Silk Saree on a hot summer day in Chennai? And there is no sign of discomfort in your face as well. One can find the discomfort in the faces of heroines acting with Captain, T.R, Simbhu,SJS etc. But not in you. Whats the secret?

Do you like Kumbakonam Degree Coffee? If yes, check out the Kumbakonam Degree Coffee from this ‘Sri Vidya Coffee works’ in Pazhaya Mambalam. The address is 1, Mahadevan Street West Mambalam Chennai. Half kg costs 105 Rs. The coffee is really good.

On a different note, what is this degree coffee?

Broken Brdige near Besant Nagar beach is one of the lesser known places in Chennai. Not many people visit this place, thanks to the slums blocking the way. But once you cross the slum. its worth it. Here are some photos of the Sunset at Broken Bridge. The 3rd photo in the row below, is one of my all time favorites :)

In Chennai metblog, there is a new series called as ‘Chennai’s gift to the world’ going on. I wrote a piece about A.R.Rahman there. Usually I dont cross post. But in this case I felt like posting the same here. Here you go!

When we were talking about gifts of Chennai in our mailing list, a persons name was frequently mentioned. A person, who is scaling new heights every single day in his career and still remains humble and simple, A person who is adored by people of all ages, not just by people of his city but all across the world. Who are we talking about? Ok. Those of you old guys, remember the year 1992? If you had watched oliyum oliyum that particular day, you will still remember it. Yes, who can forget the fresh music preceding ‘chinna chinnai aasai’ song from Roja? Ladies and gentlemen we are talking about the one and only A.R. Rahman, who is fondly called as BOSS by his fans.

He was been a chennaivasi right from beginning. Have you guys seen his house and recording theatre in Kodambakkam? Only if someone mentions you will realise that he lives there. Just like him, very simple!
