Looks like the government is trying everything possible to convince the supreme court. Now it says, Sethu Samudram is not part of Hinduism(?). Lets assume Supreme court rejects this appeal also. Now what will the central government do? Machi TV has some suggestions.
1. Father of Ramar pillai(Petrol fame) is Lord Ram. Make Ramar Pillai give a written statement that his father was always for the sethusamudram project and there is absolutely no problem to go ahead with sethusamudram project.
2. Bring some scientist and say originally india and srilanka were separated at a place, which is called as guindy now. And due to some earth quake, the upper portion of sri lanka got joined with Guindy, and the middle part of srilanka remained there. So the original bridge is the bridge that T R Baalu is constructing (partly operational) in Guindy. And also give live examples that the bridge has been wonderfully designed to send lots of people directly to heaven. What other proof does one need?
3. Since Lord Venkateswara opened a new bank account, and forgot to make changes in the ECS instructions the cheque presented by Kuberan bounced. So he got angry, confiscated the bridge and has taken it along with him to Heaven and it is kept safely there. Once the loan tenure is over the bridge will be returned. As everyone knows this is a never ending loan, there is no need to worry about drilling that area. Hence, the project can proceed.
4. Ram is not Hindu. Hindu is a newspaper, and not a religion. The only connection between Hindu and Ram is that, his namesake N Ram is the editor of ‘The Hindu’. Apart from that there is no other connection. So how can a newspaper which is in vogue for 100+ years only, construct a bridge which is supposed to be 1000+ years old?

The chief minister of the Tamil Speaking state will next give a press release saying that only real connection of sethu with TN is the movie,Sethu and since that movie came only some 8-10 years back.The bridge cannot be real and cannot be attributed to hinduism.
Or worse ,he will go on record claiming rama was a hindi god and tamil nadu has place only for tamil “kadavuls”.Of course revered Ramdoss and Thirumavalavan will support this claim.

ha ha ha great article with good humor prabhu, i enjoyed every bit of it like i did for subramaniya swami’s joke of travelling to the middle of sethu samuthiram and worshipping the bridge regularly.
How dare the government demolish the bridge and do development work hurting the sentiments of hindus? The best way to stop them is to build a temple at the middle of the ocean like we did in in all the nook and corners at the streets of chennai. what do you say?
We can also do ferry services for the people to visit the bridge and provide them with dive kit to swim inside and worship the bridge (may be kuppuramaniya swami have a better idea), we can have floating malls, karakattam, villupaatu etc.,but recruiting priest will be tough coz’ he should have a minimum of 10 yrs of diving experience and floating in water.let me know your ideas pal

While i appreciate your sense of humour, the sethu samudram project is a vital project for the economic growth.
BJP agreed to this while they were in alliance with DMK, did Rama did not destroy the bridge at that point of time ?
I am not aligned to any party and I am a Hindu and i do go to temples every week.
If you read Ramayana properly, Rama DID destroy the Bridge that he constructed.
Why dont you guys see the economic benefit of this project ?
Of course there is this environmental issue about the coral reefs, and the cost of maitenance, but again this can be mitigated if political parties keep their political mileage out of the equation and discuss this with proper mindset..

sethu samuthiram project is a dream for all tamilians it’s a prestige issue and it has tremendous prospects. I’m not a supporter of any political party or against any religion.
Tamil has listed lot of issues regarding the project and that’s really great as even i was unaware of few points in that, but the pity is this project was not stalled for the reasons which tamil has given. I would had been happier if the project was stalled for those reasons.
The project was approved by the BJP now they’re stalling for electoral gains, i don’t know how long they’ll do politics in the name of religion and cheat people.
What if it the bridge wasn’t really connected to lord ram? we would be doing tremendous injustice to the tamilians. It’s worst than what mamta did to west bengal. Every projects has its share of risks but its worth taking for the welfare of the people.
every politician is corrupt and tainted so there’s no use in debating who benefits the most, at the end we the people are going to suffer. so let’s not fell prey to the hands of fundamentalists and support the project else even lord ram can’t save our country.
