Jodha Akbar audio was initially supposed to be released by Big Music. But later, UTV the producers of the movie decided to come up their own music label UTV Music. Jodha Akbar was supposed to be the first album from that label.

The audio CD was supposed to be released by 21st of october and it got released yesterday in India, and on thursday in the US. By the time the CD’s were in stores over here almost every mp3 site on the world had/has the songs. Best part is the reason they gave for delay in India. The CD’s had some manufacturing defect it seems. Now why will someone buy the CD, if it is available online?

I downloaded the songs on Friday and have been listening to it non stop. Will buy the audio CD as well. Detailed review sometime next week :)

If someone wants to know, how NOT to launch a music album please contact UTV Music. Completely unprofessional from such a big and powerful group!

*Look. You really write well. But please dont classify yourself as someone belonging to ‘that’ category ok? Best thing I like about you is ‘I care a damn’ attitude. Many people read what you write, not because you belong to ‘that’ group or you write on ‘that’ topic. Please do not behave like your silly group, which tries to justify every single thing and expect the whole world to sympathise like a Visu movie. You dont need to explain anything. You are good. Thats all.
*And you. Yeah, the chemistry is there. No need to talk daily etc. But sometimes be proactive and take initiatives ok? Don’t need to mail and ask if I am referring to you. Yes, am referring to You!
*YOU. Instead of trying to find out what this is all about, just relax ;)

Today evening while watching Thalaivars Vettayadu VeLayadu I observed this.

Actual Movie Duration - 2 hrs 37 minutes
Movie Duration in Sun TV -4 hrs 9 minutes
Advertisements - 40 minutes.
News* - 42 minutes

Movie was between 6.03-6.17, 6.24-6.41, 6.48-7.05, 7.11-7.26, 8.00-8.18, 8.25-8.40, 8.46-9.06, 9.13-9.26, 9.32 to 9.43, 9.49-10.02 and 10.08-10.12

Advertisements were between 6.18-6.23, 6.42-6.47,7.06-7.10,8.19-8.24,8.41-8.45,9.07-9.12,9.27-9.31,9.44-9.48,10.03-10.07

On an average, an advertisement lasted 20 seconds. So totally, we had to endure close to 144 advertisements (Not different advertisements)

The advertisement break can be split into two parts

1. Generic advertisements
2. Adverstiments of sponsors, who sponsored for the movie telecast. E.g. Castrol.

So, on every advertisment break you get to watch general advertisement for first 2 minutes and then the advertisements of the sponsors. Finally, just 1 minute before movie resumes Castrol Active’s ad was shown, followed by other advertisements for a minute.

Every time the movie resumes, it starts some 10 seconds before when it actually stopped. Continuity?

*-I didnt calculate the actual news duration and the advertisment duration during the news break. All times in P.M., IST.

I found this post in chennai metblogs. It seems some people were offended that Shriya wore a revealing dress for the function. And hold your breath, it offended the tamil culture.

1. What is tamil culture?
2. Is it ok if the dresses are revealing in the movie? But if the same dress is worn in the public, for the awards ceremony of the same movie, it is against tamil culture?
3. If Shriyas dresses are revealing what about the costumes worn by people in that Thamizh Kolaignar TV dance program ‘Machaan mayilaada’ judged by Namitha?
4. What is Hindu Makkal Katchi? Is it run by ‘The Hindu’?

One thing is for sure. I dont know if Shriyas dress revealed anything. But the incident revealed the hypocrisy of many people ;)

As expected the environ’mental’ists have started crying because the Tata 1 lakh car is out. Why should the 1 lakh car alone be banned? Why not ban all the cars?

I have a better suggestion. Let all the people who talk about global warming and environment, hold their breath for a day. World will be a cooler place.

Marseille 069
Last time I was in Sweden, it was quite cold to venture anywhere in Scandinavia. So, me and a group of my friends were looking at places in and around Spain or France where it was much better at that time of the year. At that time, we came across a very good deal from Ryanair. Return trip to Marseille, France from Gothenburg was 500 SEK (Around 3000 Rs). Best part was that the flight left Gothenburg on a friday at 7.30 PM and in return, reached Gothenburg by 7 PM on the sunday. What more can one ask?

Have you listened to the song ‘Naaka Mukka’? Long since I heard such a dappankuthu song. God knows what laari sonaa or naaka mukka mean?

Thanks to Vishy for the song.

BTW, I have been observing that off late lots of intro songs have the word ‘da’. Yaara paathu da solraanga indha heroes ellam? Why only ‘da’? Why not di? Am not referring to XY chromosome calling XX chromosome ‘di’. I am talking about same sex ‘da di’. Guess it was all started by the great man with dhaadi ‘vaada en machi vazhakkai bajji’. I protest this sexist attitude. Its very bad. I hereby demand that Kolangal title track be changed, and Devayani sing using ‘di’ ‘di’ ‘di’.

P.S. Naaka Mukka song is from the movie, Kaadhalil Vizhundhen.

1. Jodha Akbar music gets released.
2. Lots of celebrities attend the show.
3. All 5 songs from the movie are played to the audience.

This is what happened in Mumbai, yesterday. Now what do you expect when you read a report on this function? About the movie? Its music? No.

This is what TOI says.
“Sonu Niigaam seemed to make up for the well-covered event by his cleavage show as he strutted around in a body-hugging tee.”

Watching videos on N95 is real fun. Thanks to this site, one can actually download youtube videos in the 3GP or AVI format for their mobile phones. In this way, you can have your own personal oliyum oliyum. It really helps when you are traveling and have some 2 or 3 hours in the middle, when you dont know what to do. Check out Vixy. Its good. Oh yeah, you can also download just the audio from the youtube link in mp3 format.

I was actually waiting for Star Plus to telecast the Delhi concert, to write a post on it. Looks like it might take some more time! Anyways, here are some observations from the concert. Continue Reading »
