Staying alone is not new for me. Initially I was supposed to stay in a hotel, since the trip is for just 2 weeks. But I requested my company to arrange a flat for me, so that I can cook my own food. And they had arranged a wonderful 3 bedroom apartment, which I was supposed to share with 2 other colleagues.

But due to some change in plans, they will not be here in Sweden for the next 2 weeks. The apartment is extremely good, except for the fact that there is no telephone or internet. So once am outside office, am cut off. In a way that’s good ![]()

Yesterday evening I started a bit late from office, and by the time I reached the bus stop it was empty. And there was not a single soul on the road. It was hardly 17.15 and I was quite surprised.

Even more surprising was the fact that, the bus which I took was empty, except for the driver of course. Well I have never traveled in an empty bus and it was a different feeling. After sometime I went to the last seat and sat right in the middle, with both arms outstretched. Aah. I felt very special
The journey lasted for about 30 minutes or so, but it was quite an experience.

And to my surprise again, I did not meet a single soul till I reached the apartment. One of those days eh? Guess in Bangalore I was staying alone, and here am living alone
Life is good, I tell you.

No wonder. I had the same feeling when i was in Munich a week ago. I think partly it is because of the cold weather added with the rain i guess. Unlike India with its humongous populace. Enjoy your stay and don’t forget to post more pics of this amazingly desolate place
Hehe, how can I join your company?? asap!….
sweeeeden…..
No internet in a Nordic country? Might surprising!
Murugavel,
Sure. I will try to take some more photos this weekend
Naveen,
Ha ha!
Gopal,
Ofcourse I can take the notebook and walk to a nearby mall which has wifi. But no mood to put in that much effort
This is a new apartment. And its quite tough to get a net connection just for 2 weeks
adadaa ,nejama promaiyaa irukku
enjoy it.
iam going through your blogs for the past three months
and really like the posts
infact i visited the temple near padappai(serappanancheri)
after i came to know it through your bolg
I’d love to be in a place like tht…
Just the perfect mood and environment to write! Your apartment and the roads look simply lovely! Sigh, mera number kab aayega!
LOL ;–) Nice post.
But this solitude sometimes gets to you. Its nice for a few days, but months of bitter cold, and empty buses, not meeting a single soul on the road, really gets to you ;–( Been there, felt that.
amazing pictures :–) Enna camera?
thanimaiyil inimai irukkattum – last time itself you said you will taste the smorgasbord and let me know but you didnot.
Just to tickle your memory – forty years ago when the Airlines applied self-control and said they will keep down the meal schedule to a minimum of sandwiches, and sell lunch packets at a price – everyone agreed. Scadinavian Airlines said they will also adhere to this policy and said they will serve their smorgasbord sandwich.
It turned out that this sandwich is a huge one and a meal by itself, and proved to be a disadvantage of other airlines.
Good pictures and let us have the travelogue in detail later!
Let me know if you ever come to Pittsburgh…
Also, does your company have any openings in the embedded arena?
Hmmmph! Stockholm is better.
Nirenjan, my company has vacancies in Embedded arena. I am in it.
Not a single soul in those 17 photos! What a change from Bangalore for you! Just the right place to be for you for the next 2-3 weeks. But only or 2-3 weeks and not more as it could get depressing if that weather and solitude continues!

Hey, stunning pictures. Looks like it must have rained just before you took them. Conveys the beauty and the desolateness really well.
LOL@empty bus. Must have made it feel like your personal vahanam. I remember one of the times it happened to me in the US – the driver actually changed his route to drop me at the doorstep of my destination!
