Todays editorial in The Mandu sorry Hindu.
The gunning down — with automatic weapons — by the police of protesters demanding land distribution at Mudigonda village of Khamman district in Andhra Pradesh was indefensible. That the police used AK 47s against an assembly of people incensed by the insensitivity of the Congress government to the plight of the landless and land-poor spotlights the anti-human nature of the regime’s response.
And the same newspaper wrote this when something similar happened in Nandigram.
The militant protesters, who over the last three months dug up roads and bridges, cut off communication facilities, and drove hundreds of Left Front supporters out of the area, were clearly spoiling for a confrontation with the State administration. What needs explaining is why the State government allowed the situation to reach this pass. As in a bad movie plot, the police, called in to end the lawlessness, were provoked into firing at the agitators. The CBI inquiry ordered by the Calcutta High Court should reveal what actually happened.
If it happens outside the communist controlled areas it is insensitivity at its peak. But if it happens inside, then it is being provoked. Very good Mr Ram. I don’t think anyone else can explain hypocrisy so practically. Well done!
This is not just hypocrisy.. It is in one of the most favorite terms of politicians – “Selective Amnesia”
Exactly the reason why reading Communist Literature is a much better option that subscribing to ‘The Hindu’. The former, at least, does not have a hidden agenda.

hmmm.. yeah .. editorial quality has gone down in terms of bias… strong a ezhutharen pervazhi nu they lose perspective.

There are other ways to mob control than gunfire… But mob is hysteria… and it all depends on who gave the shooting order..
Ram was not allowed in The hindu for a long time.. and was forced to start Frontline..
But Mr.communist, is not principally a communist.. and is as profit oriented as the rest of the gang..So thats hypocrisy at a different level !!
