i dont shankar planned a serious film!!! look at the crap that anniyan was made up of!!!

contrary to wat people say rajni doesnt look young and wen he says “coooL’, well i feel like puking!!!

making fun of the 2 black solaman papaya’s girls is pathetic, crude, evil and uncouth.

as a whole the film is ok… at least watch it for syera

i dont understand … when was the last time shankar created a realistic cinema … all of his movies are over the top hi-fi (for tamil movie stds) entertainers about an one man crusader with lil bit of sophistication … wht can u expect from him? when did he become a scorsese or a coppola or a sidney lumet?
this is a a-z rajini movie … you should go n watch this movie with tht frame of mind …

some of u quoted anandha vikatan as a ref .. plz dont do tht .. its a sleazy shit weekly which gave 42 for sivakasi … and we dont knw the qualifications of “vikatan vimarsana kuzhu” …

rajini’s age shows, specially in the song with nayanthara. It is a horrible mixture of indiyan, gentleman & anniyan.

Feels sorry seeing rajini making a fool of himself. It is time he takes on dignified roles which suit his age.

As for quality, we cannot expect one since it is a AVM production & it has rajini in it.

Leave Ur brains outside & see the film.

Also have no expectations whatsoever.

Eventhough Old is Gold, Rajni has become old which is a fact. Shankar has tried to make his level best to turn the Old to Gold. What to do he was able to manage to make it rollgold., But still its shining which nobody can deny.

as gayatri put it, the comments are sure fun… im an Aandavar Kalaignani fan…. and i really do like Rajni.. what i dont like are his fans who have actually let him down in the last decade or so by glorifying even his ridiculous movies and so called ‘style’… he’s a guy who’s got stuff… n he’s shown it as well before.. i really wonder if rajni will ever do movies like Bhuvana oru kelvi kuri, Sri Raghavendra, Mundru Mugam, Netrikkan, Mr. Bharath, etc where his style was really woven in the script and created on screen magic… Here’s what I’ve always believed in… Rajni CAN act, his fans DON’T want him to… they have successfully convinced him into resorting to gimmicks instead…

I really want to watch the movie… purely out of curiosity… wish me luck… but these reviews have cleansed by brain to expect 0% logic and 100% magic….. im confident ill come out satisfied….

PS: there is only one Kalaignani….

Shankar would have made the scrpit more powerful ..If the hero would have been some one else than rajini ..

But rajini being a super star the script has undergone many many changes .. eventullay its rajini ,Ar,Thota tharani shines ..

All those criticising prabhu remember that if you are a true rajini fan, having followed his career from Murutu Kalai (when SP Muthuraman gave Rajini his current image), you will feel sad. Sivaji shows the demise of Superstar and magnifies his flaws. His style doesnt seem like his style, his face does not emote. Rajini has made a fool of himself.

Only those content with watching rajini on screen will like the movie. Even for them, Id suggest watching old rajini movies on screen in rundown theatres.
