I was actually pretty satisfied with my Canon Powershot S2 IS. I was looking for a wide angle and tele zoom converter in addition to lens adapter and tripod. Thanks to many of your suggestions, I visited quite a few places in Bangalore on Saturday.
Finally when I reached Foto Circle, right next to Chickpet police station I was terribly confused. Confused because, the cost of all the accessories were pretty close to the price of the camera! And what more? They are not immediately available. Even Canon India doesn’t have these accessories.Duh!

At this juncture, Mr Jayesh from Foto circle showed me a brand new Canon EOS 350 D. I was in a daze, when he mentioned the price of the camera. It was costing 27K. Bloody hell. Its 40000 in the market. And in addition to it, he took my old camera at a decent price. So I too have a DSLR, with 2 years Canon warranty, now 
Oh yes, I got a Sigma lens too.

and the same lens too. Do let me know your results with the lens since I am not particularly happy with mine. I somehow feel that the Tamron one is better though Jayesh feels otherwise.

Along with lens it came to 37K, mate. And its too early for me to judge the lens performance. I need to take quite a few photos in different settings to actually see

Congrats on becoming a proud owner of a 350D. Now you are among the elite community. I am yet to get there. If you were referring to the pics in the previous post as having clicked with the DSLR, the results are evident. Will comment more later… all the best!

Do take a UV one to protect the lens. Jayesh usually gives one free and even if he does’nt it costs hardly anything. A polarizer would be good if you intend to take a lot of outdoor snaps. In case you love macro and closeup stuff, Jayesh has this nice closeup filters set. Costs around 200-300 bucks but can produce really good results. But it is always like this, DSLRs with features like these were almost 3 times to 4 times expensive just before 3-4 years . The Best this would be to settle down on the DSLR for some time till u find a really Big upgrade and rather u can Keep investing in some GREAT lenses .

hey if u really are a beginner at the DSLR. then i according to me the entry level DSLR good to look upon are
1) nikon d40 ( cost around 20K) with body and kit lense)
2) nikon d40X (cosr around 25K with body and kit lense)
3) nikon d60 (costs around 27K with body and Kit lense)
they are decent DSLR
