To quote from the CD inlay, ‘Pray for me Brother’ is a Song conceived in aid of the United Nations Millenium Development goal to eradicate poverty by 2015!
Nokia N series & the A R Rahman Foundation have joined hands to realise this dream!
This is Rahman’s dedication
This song is dedicated to inspire people to eradicate pverty from our world. And to give hope to all people suffering from oppression, injustice and cruelty due to foreign forces or their own cruel leaders, and to those that are deprived of love and compassion, and to fill the void which exists in each and every one of us, and to those that are searching for reason to be kind!
Thank you:
I would like to thank the Almighty for giving me the motivation, strength and courage to make this possible.
To Sathya(Ex WHO) and Salil(Millenium Development Goals) and Bobby John.
To Mohan Chopra and Karan Grover for helping me take this forward.
To Nokia N Series for their support.
To Bharatbala and his team…for their passion and extraordinary interpretation of this song, visually!
To Kanika and Candice…for the trip to the doctor!!
To all the students of ULCA who helped in making of this video.
To Ganeshshanker Balachandra…for unconditonal support.
To Simon Long…for your advice and friendship.
To Blaaze..for standing by my side.
To my mother..my best critic and guiding light.
To my wife…for the appreciation and patience.
To my fans for always believing in me…and my music.
To my sound team at AM Studios for putting up with me!
To Universal Music…for taking this song to the world.
To Asthaney Maqdhoom - E - Illahi for the duas and guidance!
Rahman is wearing glasses in this video, not to look cool. But because he was suffering from eye infection, during the shoot!
The CD and DVD combo costs 150 Rs. It contains a ‘Making of Pray for me Brother’, which is very good. You get to hear the man speak, along with Bharat Bala and blaaze.
If you are a Rahman fan, this is a must in your collection! Though its a non commercial album, the audio clarity has to be heard to be believed!
