Right after the confusion of BCCI teams kit, ICC has ordered that players who represent BCCI, Pakistan, SriLanka and Bangladesh to shave their heads, moustaches and beards completely.

When contacted the ICC spokesman said ‘Well. We all know how much Hair(Mr D.Hair) created a problem during the Pakistan-England test match. We are taking a precautionary measure so that there is no problem of that kind during the world cup’. As expected this created a major furore in Asia. Pakistan, Bangaldesh and Srilanka cricket boards took strong objection to what ICC said, and has withdrawn from the ICC cricket world cup. When contacted these boards said ‘They play for pride and not for money’

Cricinfo editors Anand Vasu and others feel that this was because of Sourav Ganguly. They cited the example of 2002 Natwest trophy finals, when Ganguly removed his shirt and showed the chest hair. They feel, Ganguly set a wrong precedent and should be dropped from the team. Kiran More vouched this by saying ‘All along I have been saying that Sourav Ganguly is the reason for all the problems’. Mr More even suggested, BCCI selectors should replace Sourav with Cho.S.Ramaswamy since he is completely bald.

No BCCI official was available for comment. Sources say BCCI was pondering two options

1. Gillette has offered to sponsor the Indian Team. They have agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to BCCI over a period of next 10 years. They have up with a new cutting edge technology to shave the BCCI teams players
2. Nike has proposed a scalp cap for the BCCI players. This scalp cap will cover the entire face and just expose the eyes, nose and mouth. Initially they had plans of exposing the eyes only. But then they realized a person needs to breathe as well. So they came up with this idea

Experts feel that BCCI will opt for option 2, since they can let out the scalp space on rent. And many more sponsors can put in their advertisements on the scalp!

Railway minister Lalu has offered to shave the BCCI team for free. But the BCCI team rejected this offer, since the hair will keep on growing, and Lalu has to accompany the BCCI team for this. Lalu never travels alone. And the cost of Lalu spending a month at West Indies with his family, might reduce BCCI’s profit by 50 %!

Andhra Pradesh chief minister Mr YSR, has granted 2 acres of land near Tirupati to BCCI, so that they can shift their training camp there.

Left front staged a protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi and asked the central government to intervene. They said they will withdraw support to the UPA government if Gillette was allowed to sponsor the Indian team. They gave a backup option of ‘Gopuram poosumanjaL (Gopuram Turmeric) Powder saying, that will remove all facial hair.

Former Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Ms Jayalalitha says that Mr Karunanidhi should take moral responsibility for this confusion, since a Tamilian Dinesh Kaarthick is also there in the Indian team. She said, Mr Karunanidhi should resign from the post of CM since he could not do anything in this. MDMK chief Mr Vaiko said that apart from BCCI’s team, Indian government should fight for Srilankan team as well. This was because a tamilian Muthiah Muralitharan was playing for Sri Lanka.
