There are two kinds of love. 1) Selfish 2)Selfless. Selfish love - love the person who loves you; love the person if you see admirable qualities in him/her.
Brain rules here, heart listens to it.
Selfless - love the person without considering the person’s qualities and even if you know that you are not loved by him/her. Heart rules, brain shuts down.

i feel love is not spontaneous, it comes out of a relationship like friends, neighbours, etc. u get to know them closely, and its their characteristis that u like, its the characteristics of the person which pulls u to them ….

A few years ago, there was a debate about “love” in which I participated and I won it with the final argument where I stated this.
If you can love another human being like a dog loves its master, in being oblivious about self, in being immersed in the possibility of a higher conscious state, in being able to experience the divine together, then you will not search further. Love is not an ending nor is it a beginning. Love is a conscious choice and you do not reason for or against it. If there is a reason for you to love, then the love goes away when the reason diminishes. Love should be reasonless. It is tough to love like that. And once you love like that, it would not be possible for you to love any other way. Only then you would know what true love is.
