Read this editorial from ‘The Hindu’. Something so politically correct! Let’s learn from ‘The Hindu’ on how to write an obituary. A politically correct one.

So, lets assume either Osama Bin Laden or some other leader like him(I need to be politically correct) is punished. As in, death penalty. Irrespective of pressing issues more important to the country, write an editorial exclusively for the leader. The piece must contain 3 paragraphs.

In the first paragraph, condemn the leader for all the atrocities he/she committed. Bring out the statistics on how many people the leader killed/injured and things like that.

In the second paragraph say, irrespective of the crime committed the executioner has no right to hand out a punishment. It doesn’t matter who the executioner is. The executioner must be condemned. You should let law take its own course. Now don’t be smart and try to ask logical questions like, what is the law of the land in case someone commits such gruesome murders.

Now in the final paragraph, suggest that the Indian Government must express its outrage and take a stand. In this case replace USA with some genuine Iraqi panel. Then suggest to the Govt of India, that it should involve the international community and ensure that this banana republic doesn’t do any thing like execution.

Thats it. It is simple. But at same time remember being politically correct doesn’t mean being logical. For instance in this case ‘The Hindu’ says, India should express its outrage over someone who is in no way connected to India. But at same time, their favorite political party CPI(M) has called for a strike. But no outrage is expressed over the possible loss to the Indian Economy because of this strike. Why? Who will pay back for the loss Mr Ram? Why don’t you express your outrage , by participating in the strike and there by closing the office of ‘The Hindu’ and all its publications on the day of the strike, to show your protest against the killing?
