Read this editorial from ‘The Hindu’. Something so politically correct! Let’s learn from ‘The Hindu’ on how to write an obituary. A politically correct one.

So, lets assume either Osama Bin Laden or some other leader like him(I need to be politically correct) is punished. As in, death penalty. Irrespective of pressing issues more important to the country, write an editorial exclusively for the leader. The piece must contain 3 paragraphs.

When I was in Jodhpur attending the wedding, I came across a girl who looked extremely familiar. But thanks to the abused ‘Excuse me, do we know each other?’ question, I didnt dare go and ask her. But then, after the round of introductions she herself mentioned that we were colleagues in my previous company :D I think this is a good question for NN, on how to ask a girl ‘Have we met before?’ genuinely!

Meanwhile did I tell you guys that I met Trisha while coming back from Rajasthan? Err I mean, I saw Trisha without makeup :D She got into the same Kingfisher flight I was travelling in Pune. For a second I was wondering, if I had seen this girl somewhere. When she got into the flight I didnt know it was Trisha, since she looked like any other girl:P There was a guy next to me, and he started exclaiming Trisha Trisha, and then I realised it was Trisha. I never knew makeup would make a person look so beautiful on screen, and in real life so ordinary!! I dont want to meet Shriya, Meera Jasmine, Kanika without makeup(I mean, their makeup)!

England not only invented cricket, but whining when their team loses as well. And we Indians not only follow the game to the book, but take whining and protesting to a new level by protesting in parliament, throwing black paint etc.

Look at the comments for this article. The same people were celebrating, and praising the team when they won the ashes last time. It seems to be an extreme reaction, irrespective of whether they win or lose. Just like us, every commenter has become a selector and captain. Hilarious! Why cant people accept the fact that Australia played better, and England played badly. Everyone has a bad patch. Unfortunately for England, they committed many mistakes in the wrong time. But isn’t that what sport is all about?

I wonder what will happen if India loses this test match and the next? Now that Kaif is not playing the test matches, whose house will be tarnished? I think it would do a world of good, if people stop supporting their country and instead watch sports where they don’t participate. No more lunch time debates on who should play, who should lead, who should coach ;) It’s easy that way, at least for me. I am disappointed every time Chelsea lose, or if Ferrari don’t win the race. But since they are not Indians, things get better soon :) You don’t need to support your country in sports, to show you are patriotic!

..Previous part here
After the sunset, I reached the tent resorts or however one calls it. They had arranged for a music/dance program. Its called as traditional rajasthani music, but then that has also become commercialized. Apart from me, there were 2 or 3 other families. And they requested these guys to sing film songs :( But then, the dance was good. Three people danced in tandem, and some steps were really unbelievable. Like they were kneeling on the mud floor and circling the camp fire at a speed of around 60 to 70 kmph. It took sometime for me to understand, what had happened. And yes, out of 3 dancers there was 1 girl, and 2 guys dressed in girls costumes.

Dear NN,

I have always been fascinated by this pub culture in Bangalore. I am very scared to enter there, since I hardly listen to English songs. What if I look like the odd man out? And I see so many young girls there. Please tell me the trick, .
-Rocky, Sanjay Nagar, Bangalore

Dear Rocky,

Hey not everyone who visits a pub is an expert in English songs. First, grow long hair. And start saying ‘Yo’ for anything and everything. Once you are inside the pub, just stay silent till the next song starts. The moment the next song starts playing, say woooo and clap along with the crowd. And start shaking your head. For the first 2 minutes, shake your head in vertical motion. You can mumble in low voice ‘ABCD ungappan dhaadi vandhaa vaadi varaati poadi’ based on the tune of the song. No one cares. And for the remaining two minutes, shake your head from left to right. And remember, in some songs there will be just music. In those conditions, you can pretend like you are playing the guitar. Then, shake your head as if someone mentioned to you, that you can’t visit the restroom for the next 6 hours. Bite your teeth, and shake the head mimicking the situation ;) That’s all. Visiting a pub is easy.

What are you doing for new year eve? Since we are working on January 1st, myself and my friend Maverick decided to spend the new year at home by watching some good movie on DVD. At that time, I don’t know why, but I remembered that Sivaji song ‘Indhiya naadu nam naadu indhiyan enbadhu nam peru’ from the movie bharatha vilas. What a pathetic song? Have you seen it? The dance steps of Sivaji, VK Ramasamy, Major Sundararajan etc will make even Devayani laugh. And lyrics like ‘padachon padachon engala padachon’, and ‘enu saami illinodu enga ooru mysooru’ are really funny.

And just when the song ends, Sivaji will get heart attack and fall on the floor. Oh man! his expressions when he develops chest pain are hilarious. Its a priceless moment. Do watch that song, if you get a chance. I dont have the youtube link unfortunately :(

Which is your favorite tamil song? Or rather, songs? Not just music. But music, lyrics, video, casting, choregraphy everything put together.

My list would be

1. Pachai Nirame - Alaipayuthey
2. Ennuyire - Uyire
3. Inji Idupazhagi - Devar Magan
4. Podhuvaga en manasu thangam - Murattu kaaLai
5. Saadhuryam pesadhadi - vanji koattai vaaliban (That padmini, vyjayanthimala dance in which PS Veerappa goes ‘Sabaaash Sariyaana poatti’
6. Sippi irukkudhu Muthum irukkudhu - Varumayin niRam sivappu
7. Azhaghaana Ratchasiye - Mudhalvan
8. Muna paniya mudhal mazhaiya - Nandhaa
9. Ragasiyamaai - Dum Dum Dum
10. Hey good bye nanba - Ayutha Ezhuthu

My favorite is ‘Pachai Nirame’ and there is no specific numbering for other songs. It was tough to choose just ten. There are many more favorites like ‘maalayil vedhanai’ from sethu, ‘unnai vida’ from Virumaandi, ‘Sempoove’ from siRaichaalai etc

So what are your favorite songs, that you would like to repeatedly listen, watch, hum?

P.S. In case you are planning to blog your list of favorite songs, drop in your link in the comments section
