Dear NN,
I am getting married next month in chennai. I heard there is L’oreal centre in T.Nagar for men. Is it good? And is it better to get a facial massage etc, a week before the reception? Or 2 to 3 days before the reception? What do you suggest?
-Periya Karuppan, choolaimedu
Dear Periya Karuppan,
Before getting into the massage stuff kindly look at the wedding album of any of your friends, who got married recently. You would be surprised to see that the face of the people is very white/pale and looks bleached(In the literal sense). People who come to attend your wedding, wont even remember what hairstyle (?) you had, or if you have had a facial etc. If you take bath twice a day, you won’t need these extreme steps. And remember, you are getting married in chennai. In case you get married after February, irrespective of what facial you apply it will melt. Photographs remain for ever, but memory doesn’t. To save the embarassing question of ‘Is this you?’ when someone looks at your wedding album, visit your local Gilma saloon, get a decent hair cut and clean shave. That should do.

A breezy and warm sunday, you go to the church, get to meet all your friends, worship God and get back home.
After the cruelsome working day’s lunch, you get to have nice home food. A delight, and appetising. You have it and doze off to a slumber. A cool afternoon nap it is.
You wake up, find that your brothers are hooked to tv ( to watch cricket !! sucks).. No where to go, you logon to internet and browse. Type in prabhukrish.net and check out for latest posts.
And there he is, coming up with a facial massage nachu (ew!!). Life is cruel, I tell you

Bindu,
Copy cat
Aparna,
Not fair. No same side goal
Beauty Expert,
But then makeup melts? Why do people with makeup look like ghosts in the photographs?

Prabhu,
Facial is different from make up. Facial removes all the dead skin from your face, and excess melanin. So your face shall glow with radiance. Facials can be done at home too. Multan-e-mitti (fuller’s earth), sandal wood paste, milk cream, orange peel are all good home facials. They are similar to our age old kadala maavu, payatha maavu.
Make up also can be made good, if done by a proper expert. oil based make up can be tried.
That will Rs 300 , for the consultation. Please let me know your preferred mode of payment.

Nice post… Even the brides sometimes end up looking frightening at the reception in the name of ‘make up’ and ‘hair style’

its happened to one of my friends during her reception…she went for a bridal makeup package with a top beauty parlour in chennai…
before the reception the beauticians asked to her just relax and allow them to take over…after an hour..wats the result…an inch of make up and the mappilai started screaming looking at her…he was screaming for the make up had made her look like a different person altogether…
so much for make up!!!!!

Pls get this straight: Facial is done a couple of days before. As BE said, it removes dead cells and makes the skin glow. Make-up is applied just 1-2 hours before the reception…
1: Marriage is a once-in-a-lifetime event. If the bride looks like how she looks everyday, why is that day so special?
2: Nobody is ever satisfied about how they look on their wedding day, be it bride or groom. They can never get themselves to admit that ‘ avanga moonjikku appadi dhaan photo/ video-la iruppanga’ They just need a person to pass the blame on, in most cases it happens to be the make-up guy.
3: All you guys who ask their bride to look fair during the reception, please shut up!!! you have no business accusing others for your act. This also applies to all dark brides who want to look fair.
One thing I completely agree is the hair-do!!! Why all those wigs? Why cant the bride be just herself?

Ayyo da oru nachchu namasivayam starts so many arguements?

Anon i agree with you on all our points except for:
“1: Marriage is a once-in-a-lifetime event.”
there, i don’t think so, i think one could get married whenever s/he would need to. But then, that’s just me, and we all agree to disagree

Is it time to celebrate, impress the boss, marry off the children, reunite with family, or meet those fundraising objectives? A barbeque caterer can certainly help you party with style….

I think you are misinterpreting the facial . Facial is not just makeup it it Skin re treatment for dead cells . If you want to follow herbal facial , aboard to kerala where auyrvedic rule facials . facial by beauty salons are for the perople who want to refresh their dead skins .
Agree Chennai heat will make you dead cell more but prevention is better than cure .If you start sun lotions yuo can avoid skin issues.
Please read more about facial before you blog .,
