I was checking this wiki page on ‘Airlines of India’, and was surprised to see so many carriers. Archana airways???? Visa airways(!!). Many are defunct though!

One of those days, you happen to watch something on television which you cant tell outside. Wait. Dont assume something. I was referring to this movie panchaliya kadichi or something like that. Due to frequent power cuts, couldnt watch the movie completely. But then didnt miss anything. So, here we are. A ready reckoner for village subject movies.

Lets split the movie to 3 parts, assuming duration of each part is for 45 mins. Remaining part is for fight scenes, title, interval, crying etc. And since south indians eat lots of spice, and variety is the spice of life, let me provide lots of variety.

Before we get into the movie plot, there are some basic assumptions. Vijayakumar must act in the movie. Village subject without vijayakumar is like T Rajendar without beard. And the hero must be called by his parents as ‘Ennai petha raasa’ and heroine as ‘Ennai petha thaayee’. There must be one thiruvizha song, where fat ugly half naked men smear sandhanam on their body and dance. They must be ably accompanied by manjakaatu mainas in green, blue and red color half sarees. And padhinettu(18) patti must be used frequently in the dialogues. E.g. Eley. Indha padhinettu pattilayum evanum jettiye poattadhu illaida. Ellam pattaapatti underwear dhaan.

Part1:
This is the opening sequence.

One girl reaches 4th round of US open. And the nation goes gaga. And 11 men in blue color, who play for BCCI and not for India keep losing non stop. Still they get maximum accolades and media attention. Whereas someone has achieved so much in chess. No one bothers. And a guy has won the european masters in Golf. No mention. Shame on Indian sports media.

And where are the pundits and cricket fans? Where is the allegation of match fixing? When is the black paint throwing/effigy burning etc happening? Come on blue billion. Show your patriotism!

Today morning, Mysore police intercepted 2 guys(suspected terrorists). But something extremely shocking happened after that. The guys opened fire at the police(This is expected), and the police retaliated. Damn it! How dare the police retaliate? Then whats the difference between terrorists and police?

Does anyone think of how much pain, the arrested guys families will undergo now? And what is the proof these guys are really terrorists. The case against them is very weak no? And where is the evidence?

Shouldnt they(police) have waved white flag and offered rose/sweets etc to the terrorists? Better, they should have lit a candle and waved at the terrorists. This is a gross violation of human rights!

Dharmapuri

The latest stylish flick from Captain and director perarasu. In this movie, Captain tries all sorts of tamilian styles like veshti, karagu dance costume, ayyanar sami costume etc. In this racy action thriller, in which the audience race out of the auditorium whenever there is a captain song/interval/climax, captain teaches the value of land(maNNu) and how a politician must behave.

Some salient features

*One of the best captain opening scenes. Villain fires a bullet and it doesn’t destroy captain. How? Captain has a plate(Literally a plate on which you eat food) inside his shirt. The bullet hits captains plate, reflects back and hits the villain. In football terms, the bullet hit the woodwork and bounced back. One of the most hilarious comedy opening, ever in a tamil film

*Captain’s name is shivaram. He owns a logistics shop, which supplies table/chair/vessels etc on rent to weddings. Good casting. Captain fits in the role, perfectly.

*Generally in tamil cine standards, hero will thaangify heroine in nenju. But in this movie, captain will thaangify heroine on his thoppai. In one song sequence, captain will be leaning backwards and standing. As in his leg, will be vertical till the region of thoppai. And from the thoppai region captain will be leaning backwards at an angle of 69 degrees :D Now, the heroine’s leg will also be on vertical position. And from her waist, she will be leaning on captain. Now in this position, captain will move behind in decent pace holding the heroine. During course of all this, they wont be holding their hands. Phew! Scientists from all over the world are analyzing this dance sequence. Some say, captains thoppai is similar to the shape of Jupiter planet.

*The above song sequence explains why, Namitha wasn’t considered for the role of heroine.

*This movie is a boon for mothers who want to make their babies eat food. Post interval, captain appears in a costume similar to that of Ayyanar. Any kid looking at that scene or photo, will start eating food and listen to what their mom/elders say. Move over poochandi

*Captain gives potty training, in this movie. For doubts look at this snap in which Captain explains the sitting position. He enacts the same position in some dances as well. So a helpful movie again for mothers.

*There is no need for a separate comedian in captain movies. Compared to the fun captain provides, no one can come close. By doing this, the director can reduce the length of the movie by around 20 to 30 minutes.

*Innovative ways of defeating villain. The villain asks captain ‘enakku maNNu venum’. He actually meant land. Now what captain does is something beyond imagination. He gathers the entire village, and everyone has a handful of maNNu. And they throw it on the villain. The villain pleads mercy.

Story: A good guy defeats bad guys, and teaches them a lesson by not violating the law. A hero who is loved by one and all. And the hero even explains to a MLA, the duties of a MLA.

On the whole a full entertainer for 50 Rs. Paisa Vasool. But I feel Captains movies can do away with heroine and comedian. In this way the movie duration will reduce by 1 hr. And similar to english movies, captains movies will be there for 1.5 hours only. Racy action comedy movies you see :P

Most popular english movies get released in tamil with dubbed dialogues. And the name of the movie is also in tamil. Spiderman becomes valai manidhan. Will these movies also get tax rebates? If no, why not?
Movie name is in tamil, dialogues are also in tamil. So whats the problem?

Or it wont happen unless and until Sharon Stone, Salma Hayek, Drew Barrymore etc come and dance in front of Kalaignar and Dayanidhi Maran, with Spielberg, Peter Jackson and others reciting english poetry dubbed from tamil?

By the way, how will someone dub basic instinct? ‘Adipadayaaga manasil satrendRu oar eNNam thondrum’?

Finally, got to see a match without any controversies. Either from the players, or from the coaches. Drogba’s goal was really special. But I liked the way Essien played and the way Boulahrouz defended. In my opinion, Boulahrouz was the man of the match. He kept not just messi, but Ronaldinho also quiet. And thats not a mean achievement, by any standards!
