There is this site desicritics. There is a post on ‘South Indian Comedy’. Well. I didnt agree with the post, in which the author says south indian comedy is worse nowadays or whatever. Left a comment ‘I just have a question. Have you watched karagaatakaran or giri?’. Tell me. Is this a personal attack? Is this an abusive comment?
Even the author didnt feel so. She responded in some other comment for my question. But my comment has been deleted!! Damn! They delete a comment just because I disagreed? I have left another comment. Lets see if it stays.
Why the hell do you call yourselves critics, if you cannot stand disagreement? Very very cheap behaviour! Change your name to spineless critics or something else.
And it has happened to Ravages (with a dingchaks template)too

prabhu, that being polite,
desi critics is more like desi puke fest,

Prabhu: That is rather disturbing, but hey, there is a fantastic discussion on at putvote you can pitch in too. The discussion though centres around the post itself, and does not go into the comment moderation policy of the website.

Hey this happened to me too..I put in a comment asking something in a blog (by a singer) and that comment was never posted jus because I did not appreciate. I think they want only good comments to be put in thir comments’ page.

The author must be one tamilian who hasnt stayed in tamilnadu for a long time or it must be some bollywood fanatic who has a “gaandu” over tamil cinema.Whether he is southwala or northwala,a donkey can never recognise the smeel of camphor.

Vadivelu getting soaked in drainage water and slurry in every other movie is not comedy. But that’s what you get these days. Slapstick is fine as long as you make it interesting like Parthibhan-vadivelu duo. But few years back didn’t we have innumerable versions of Kovai sarala hitting Vadivelu?
I still think you can do comedy in Tamil films without getting hurt in your crotch or end up burning ones ass.
Just watch Cho in Adisaya Piravi and Kadala Kadhala. His wits were too good in Adisaya Piravi, and in KK he resorts to political alliterations without making it a pracharam… sheer class!
May be they are lofty standards for Vivek and Vadivelu but they have their own pluses. But dearth of Good humor can’t be denied.
Sorry i don’t have anything to say about comment moderation

i am a desicritic editor. and that was not deliberate. we never delete comments unless they are abusive in nature. i think there is some problem which the site guys are trying to resolve. sorry to miss ur comment! better luck next time.

“The author must be one tamilian who hasnt stayed in tamilnadu for a long”
This reminds me of the attitude of some Tamilians from Bombay/Delhi.
). -Always insists that Hindi is the national language and should be spoken by all desis - even though we live in the US.
One prime example is one of my colleagues from Bombay.
-He always insists on speaking in Hindi whenever there are desis around (even with his family and other non Hindi speaking Tamilians).
-Always hangs out with the Hindi speaking crowd and doesnt move well with any desi who doesnt know Hindi (Exception is good looking desi women
Of course, the standard of comedy in Tamil movies is not what it used to be. Still, overall Tamil movies have more and often better comedy than Hindi movies.

vatsan,
I havent read their site much to pass a comment on the content
Anand,
I did. I did
Arvind,
Hmmm!
Jacky,
Agree. There can be comedy without the stuff you mention!
Nandhu,
Thank you. But I saw my comment for few hours and then it disappeared. Thats what irritated me. If its a technical problem, well please put a disclaimer in the site. Else it shows desicritics in a very bad light!
Shek and Ram,
I think this is not the right place to discuss these things. I dont want my comment section to become a flame war on north vs south, which I feel is irrelevant and unnecessary. Thank you!
