When I reached Goteborg, my company had arranged for someone to receive me. After we dumped the luggage, I asked him if I can sit in the front seat. He said okay. By habit, I went to the left side of the car and opened the front door. The guy started off “No No. I will drive. You please relax” I apologised and told him that in India “Right side is where the driver sits”. He said “In Sweden, and many other countries Left side is the right side” 
If some communists had heard this, they would have been super thrilled

Hi,
My name is Aswin. I bumped into your blog.
I experienced the same when I opted for car-sharing to travel to Munich.
I was perplexed when I opened the door and saw the steering wheel. The Woman looked at me puzzled. I then explained to her everything. We had a good laugh.
But I repeated it once more some months ago. Its inbuilt, I think. To top all of them, I don’t get into the habit of using the seat belt.

amam, it’s even weird when the car’s moving. ur sitting in the driver’s seat, but ur not driving and the car’s still moving! psychs u out first time man!
