When Lok Paritran was formed, there was so much hype. The new India. The change everyone(?) was waiting for. Needless to mention the spam mails asking me to register in their site, vote for them etc. I even remember one reader accusing me of being a critic and not writing anything about them
Ok. Now I am writing about them. Initially I was not very sure what these guys(LP) were upto. I saw their website, their interviews etc etc. They proudly claimed that they will remove corruption, make administrative processes transparent etc etc. Well. They didnt mention how. The first impression I got of Lok Paritran’s attitude was ‘We know everything’. Unfortunately as the elections neared, even the LP supporters got into that ‘I know everything’ attitude.
Yesterday I saw this link from IdlyVadai. Frankly speaking I was really surprised. These guys seem to have got lots of votes in the recent elections. And so many youngsters put in lots of effort to campaign for this party. Shouldnt they have used these votes to strengthen their presence and contest in the upcoming panchayat elections?Instead they get into ego clashes and split.
Am happy I voted for Vijayakanth!

Its a shame to see paritran breaking coz of internal politics.. some irony that is..
thanks for the link.. some hilarious stuff there.. n finally cap ROCKS

seriously… i was shocked when I read about this in Deccan Chronicle yesterday. People hoped this would be change that they have all been looking for… but they proved that they are just another political party who cannot handle their internal differences…pretty sad.

And I was expecting a different post full of disclaimers
But on the topic of Lok Paritran - I’m a silent unbeliever. I don’t believe they can bring about any thing of great magnitude to India, but I still find it rather unfair that people ask them to “go back” where they belong.

Bharatiryar somewhere said ‘geTTikkaaran puLugu eTTE naaL’ I guess indha Lok Paritran pasanga romba geTTikkaaranga
Like Ferrari said ‘I know all’ does not work. Philosophically it does not work anywhere.
It takes time. They should meet people and make people believe that they are one of them.
Contrary to what Ferrari claimed the number of votes they got is NOT lot.

I never expected Lok Paritran to split like this.

friends, asking votes thru emails wont fetch them anything. Its a shame that a party like LP(started by educated people)has become “pathodu padhinonru”.See friends to achieve something in politics you first you should be one among common people. This is the secret of CAPTAIN’s success and THALAIVAR RAJINI’s failure in politics

Exactly that’s what I felt too..They should’ve actively involved in the social causes and raise voice against illegal happenings which would make people believe that they are here for a good cause. But if the news is true, they’re still a bunch of kids.

Ferro,
This is a shame yet they deserve a pat on their back for trying. You want them to involve in social causes – that is perfectly all right but different yardsticks for different parties? I don’t think Captain was involved in any big time social work before elections. We need to be more considerate and tolerant with small timers – parties or individuals who promise to bring about some change. After all some change is better than No change that is inflicted upon us by Kizhagams for years.
LP’s perish is ugly but we can be easygoing on this issue and see how the alternate group evolves.

Agree with Prabhu & Priya:
True and given a chance already, they would have been wise to have used this opportunity to strengthen themselves. Anyway, assuming such things happen(though it happened pretty early for such a premature party), its important(for us youth) to keep a tab on how they evolve and what they do over the next 5 years. If they really do atleast a good amount of what they say they will, then yes, we will get our confidence back on them. Having said that, they have set a bad precedent for future youth groups who want to “do really something worthwhile for this country”. Its just that they maybe taken for a joke as well.
So, as much as its too early for them to have rocked their own boat, its too early for us to ditch them as well. Anything better than current political climate is always welcome and it is an iterative process for betterment.
So, lets wait and see what they are doing and how they evolve over time.
I personally would not write them off yet.

ooops! I am sorry for a slip - that was not Bharatiyar what I mentioned in the post. It is a ‘pazhamozhi’. What Bharatiyar said is different. Nobody noticed - still correctness is correctness.

There is only one thalaivar that is Rajini. don’t talk rubbish about rajini. People who voted for vijayakanth have a dont-like attitude towards DMK and ADMK. Tell me why you have voted for vijayakanth ?
Note - Rajinikanth is more powerful than vijayakanth !!

Mr.Anonymous and others,
Please don’t select a leader from kodambaakam ? Vijaykant is not worth to be a leader ? Bull-shit people who voted for vijaykant.
Tamilnadu should be ruled only tamilians. Think that if you guys form a party in other states, do you think that you can become a chief minister. No way. Why our tamil people are like this ? Vote always for a tamilian.
