Whenever I think of buying a mobile phone I look only at nokia models. I do know that for the same price, you will get more features with some other make. But I just cant think of a non-Nokia mobile phone!
Same with Digital Cameras. I cant think of any camera apart from a Canon!
Does it happen with you?

Me too. But I have had bought only 2 mobile phones. The first one was Panasonic and when it was time to move to a different one, I could not think anything other than Nokia. The same with digicams too. I own one and it is a Canon.
Dosas – Masala Dosa (adhu illenaa dhaan mathadhelaam)
Rasam – Poondu Rasam (adhu ilenaa dhaan mathadhelaam)
Hmmm….i cant talk from my perspective…coz i dun buy these stuff…But i can think from my bros’ perspective…My elder bro buys me stuff and to think of it…my walkman, discman, digicam are all Sony, and when it comes to watches he’s always bought Guess watches for women( err..for my mom, my sisters and myself)…and talkin’ abt laptops…he prefers Dell…hmmm mobile phones..I’ve had 3 mobile phones…all 3 gifted by my 2nd bro and all 3 are Nokia…and now if i hafta talk abt cosmetics…hmmm..Elizabeth Arden,Maybelline,L’OREAL and Garnier…I ve seen my folks stick on to those brands
…
Anyways…the idea is…for me its always been gifts frm siblings…they’ve always stuck to a particular brand…so i guess thts how it is for most ppl…:)
try sony ericsson k750i or w800i.. u wont think about Nokia forever!!
And yeah I forgot…wheneva my mom or for tht matter my entire family wants to buy Kancheepuram pattu…they go to this particular shop in Kancheepuram…. i dunno whether its a shop…we go to this house, they bring sarees from tharee(thts wht ya call it rite?)..Rite from my first pattu paavadai i know all tht pattu stuff was bought from there…hmmm..Sentiment mebbe …:)
Me too!! Nokia blocks my view always!!Though for flip models, I might prefer samsung or motorola. However flip models don’t suit my “rough n tough” handling which is another issue.
Iam a ‘Sony Ericsson’ guy.I think such a ‘Mobile Affection’ is bcoz of the first experience with a make one brought or used.
It has noting to do with the brand quality.
Nokia has been playing the catch-up game for sometime now which is quite unlike Canon. I’m a Canon loyalist when it comes to digicams but Cell phones – detest Nokia for the reason you acknowledged!
Mmm… let me see how does my list look…
Cellphones – Sony Ericsson. P910i right now.
Digital Camera – Canon Powershot Pro. A G2 right now.
Camcorder – Sony. Currently, a MiniDV 1megapixel widescreen.
Electronic Equipments – First a Sony. Then anything else. When it comes to home theatre and hi-fidelity music, I check out a ONKYO or a BOSE.
Car stereo – Pioneer with Blaupunkt speakers.
Watches – If Indian, then TITAN. Favorite international brands include Citizen, Seiko, Espirit, Omega. (I own 11 watches, btw!)
… list goes on and on!
Ha… I think I did not mention my point. I bought only those which I am choosy about. Like a Sony Ericsson for a cellphone, Sony Trinitron for a TV
I thot only my hubby was a watch freak! It was a relief after seeing RC’s comment! And so tru about Nokia phones. I have tried Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, LG, etc.. through my Dad but my vote has always been for Nokia. “User friendly” naa adhu Nokia dhaan!
SLR camera na adhu Nikon dhaan!
that is the only brand that i care abt in photography.
mathabadi phone ellam 501 Rs reliance phone laam kooda use pannirukken, no vevasthai.

Yes totally!
Its kind of an attachment
Ferro, i feel, we shouldnt get any bondage towards the make as it reduces our option. Being a consumer, just explore all and get the best which matches max of your need. When I look at my stuff, its cannon-digicam, sony-handicam, motorola – cell, Toshiba – laptop, SEIKO – watch.
let me guess.. you went to the same school from lkg to 12th, then went to the same college for undergrad and grad school and have worked only for one company ???

Prabhu,
I agree with you regarding your attachment for the NOKIA. I’ve made a mistake buying a SAMSUNG and will def. switch sometime soon. Nothing like a NOKIA, for sure!
agreed Nokia is good…but tell me this shouldn’t comfort be the first thing on your mind when u buy a mobile…have u seen the 6600 which seems to be so popular …. that is the worst phone ever in the recent times…forget about the features …. comfort man … my roomie has this phone and he has to remove it fform his pocket everytime he drives… bottomline : don’t go by makes … go by comforts
