Me: Am going to hyderabad this weekend for a friends wedding. Any interesting tourist places around hyderabad?
Friend: Ramoji Rao film city is there
Me: Err. I dont want to see any film cities. Any good hill station, old temples there?
Friend: Inside Ramoji Rao film city, everything is there
Me: !!!!!!!!

P.S. Anyone knows of good places around hyderabad, apart from Ramoji Rao film city?

    NTR garden, Prasad IMAX, Gandipet, Hussain Sagar + speedboating + Buddha, Birla Mandir + Planetarium.

    Have heard that the Golconda fort is good. Especially in the evenings when the entire fort is lit beautifully with lamps

    its famous for its pearl markets at the foot of the charminar – one of the must see sites there

    if u can go to warangal – theres supposed to be a star shaped temple – a slight distance from hydrebad i think forgot ;)

    Birla Manthir and Golconda fort are good places to visit… You can easily spend a day there… good hike too…

    Charminar, though they dont allow you to get up to the tower, you can just pass by (but it wouldnt be maintained properly and also it is much congested place like our Ranganathan Street :) )

    Ferro, dont miss Golconda fort…you can see the cell where ‘Badhrachala’ Ramdas spent his days when he was in captive..also, a Ram temple inside the fort…

    Sanghi Temple – on the way to Ramoji Film City(during evening)

    As suggested by Visitra Warangal..(1.5-2 hrs journey from hyd) Again a temple, very old n beautiful one..you can spend whole day at warangal

    Few more temples around hyderabad – Yadagiri gutta, Basara..

    If not visited before – Nagarjuna Sagar

    You will get Karachi biscuits from Karachi bakery, It’s near to Abids, one outlet is thr in Prasadz or Central..don’t rem exactly whr..but better place is go to their bakery near abids..Ask autowala to drop you at Karachi Bakery(Exact location is Mojamjahi Market

    Hyderabad doesn’t have metro..have local trains..It doesn’t cover all places, but yeh good exp..

    2. Warangal – ruins of Kakatiya kingdom.
    3. Nagarjuna Sagar – the Buddhist site of Nagarjunkonda & Amravati + Dam. :)
