Frankly speaking it is sad to see that BJP is tying up with JD(S).

The reasons what Venkiah Naidu said for the tie up are as follows
1. No fresh elections
2. Remove the corrupt congress government
3. First time BJP is forming a government in south india.

It is crystal clear that, it is point no 3 that has made them go for a tie up. I would like to ask these questions to the BJP high command.

1. Even a layman knows that it is because of JD(S) that the current state of affairs in karnataka is a joke. Now you have gone ahead and formed an alliance with them. Whats the guarantee that JD(S) will allow you to do any work?
2. Are you not confident of your own party strength? You are the single largest party in karnataka with 79 seats. Still you have settled for the deputy chief minister post. Does it mean that you want to come to power at any cost?
3. Agreed that it is so nice to form a government for the first time in the south. But there are dangers of this being the last time also :-( Did you consider that?
4. Deve Gowda is a master strategist. Deliberately, he might be acting that he is against BJP. But it would be he, who is moving the pawns from the background. Tomorrow his son will go and fall in his legs, seek his blessings. And Poor old man will forgive his son and things will become pally pally. What happens then?
5. And am very sure, there will be misunderstandings between you and JD(S). Then surely there will be an election. And that will be a shot in the arm for Congress(I) in the next elections. All the mistakes done by dharam and co will be buried under the carpet. And it will be you, who is blamed for the state of affairs in karnataka. With what face will you go and ask people to vote for you?
6. I cant believe you can take such a short sighted step :-(
It is really a sad day in the history of BJP and its followers!

And it is funny that Deve Gowda is talking about betrayal. Remember Mr Bommai, Gowda?

Looks like the political situation in karnataka is heading for a showdown.

1. BJP Wins 79 seats, JD(S) 65+ seats, Congress 58+ seats in the assembly election couple of years back
2. JD(S) and Congress tie up and form a collision government. With Dharam (yawn) singh as the chief minister, and siddaramaih as the deputy CM.
3.Siddaramaih quit the party along with some supporters, some months back
4. In zilla panchayat elections, siddaramaih faction does well. Congress decides to tie up with Sidd faction. This irks Go(w)da and he decides to walk out of coalition
5. Gowda’s son wants to break the coalition with congress, tie up with BJP and form a new government. But daddy gowda not interested in this.

All in all JD(S) is splitting up into smaller factions. This is great news for people in Karnataka. Hopefully JD(S) will be wiped out like whats happening to shivsena in maharashtra.

Wish such thing happens to DMK in TamilNadu pretty soon. No need to worry about AIADMK, as there is no one apart from Amma in the party ;-)

Update at 10.38 PM IST:
Dharam Singh says the government is stable, and there is no threat. Tee Hee :-D He didnt say which government. Did he?
Venkiah Naidu says, people didnt want fresh elections and so BJP tying up. Oh really? :-P

I am very eager to check out Hindu’s editorial on this issue.

I met up Ravages this sunday at chennai. We were not keen to go to the beach again. Later we decided to goto kapaleeshwarar temple, and then karpagambaL mess :-) I had never been to karpagambal mess before.

I went to kapaeehwarar temple after some 7 to 8 years. It was very interesting this time. Ravages seems to know many things about the temple architectures. He was pointing to me at various sculptures, mentioning which style it belonged to. Like whether it is pallava architecture, or chozha architecture or vijayangara architecture :-) We spent some time at the temple, and ravages was ruing the fact that people just spoil the old architecture, by the name of renovating it :-( And some people were looking strangely at us, since we were more interested in looking at the sculptures rather than worshipping.
After that we had a nice snack at Karpagambal mess. Nei Podi dosai and badam halwa. Wow. I have never tasted such tasty badam halwa before. Later we proceeded towards Parthasarathy Kovil, Triplicane. We went via TP Kovil street. It was very nostalgic for me, since I started my career at TP Kovil street working for a browsing centre some 7 years back :-)
By the time we reached Parthasarathy Temple, it was pretty dark. And the temple was bit crowded. But that didnt stop us from dissecting the architecture of the temple. Like why the doors of the temples were built in such a way, and how the temple served as forts for the kings etc
Ravages told me something very interesting. There’ are only two statues of Pillayar in the world which show him with two arms. One in PillayarPatti and one in Afghanistan. Both were allegedly carved around the same time - 500-400 BC. The one in Pillayarpatti has the signature of the sculptor in Tamil Grantha script.

This i read on the Stala Puranam of the Pillayarpatti temple near Pudukottai.
I also asked JK about the afghanistan statue. he asked his sources and confirms the same.

Then we discussed about vellore fort, the subway between jalagandeshwarar temple and virinjupuram temple, shembakkam piLLayar temple, chidambaram temple, tiruvanaikaval temple, tiruvalidayam temple at padi etc.
He also told me ko(arasan)+ il(home) = kovil(kings home)
It was a very different and interesting evening.

The great tennis players(According to BBC and other British Media) bite the dust in 1st round of australian open!

Murray suffers tame loss to Chela - Andy Murray went out of the Australian Open with a whimper on Tuesday as Argentina’s Juan Ignacio Chela strolled to a 6-1 6-3 6-3 first-round win :-)

Henman crashes out in the 1st round -Tim Henman’s Australian Open challenge was ended at the first hurdle by his Wimbledon conqueror Dmitry Tursunov :-)

I was quite apprehensive about this online shopping. And after couple of experiences with fabmall, decided to stop do online shopping for ever.
I ordered 2 reading lights from fabmall last september. In the order form, asked those guys to deliver one at chennai, and one here at bangalore. They dutifully delivered this thing at chennai. But it never reached my address in bangalore :-( I sent around 10 mails over a period of 5 months. And finally, told them I am approaching the consumer court and legal action etc etc. Within a week I receive the reading light. Stupid guys. Unless you mention legal action, they dont do anything.
Couple of my friends, mentioned of similar experiences with other online shopping guys in India. Looks like its not trustworthy. Its better to go to the outlet and shop, rather than running behind them, in case the order is not fulfilled!

Start a blog, write whatever you want. People start reading, and then slowly comment. Get to attend blogger meets, post pictures, lose the anonymity. Think thrice before writing anything, lest it turns into some controversy, and serves as food for the popularity/traffic hunting bloggers. What to do then? Start another blog, dont reveal the identity and blog whatever that comes to mind, without worrying about anything? And then the cycle continues? Hmmmm

I guess the EPL Referees are going from worse to worsest. This weekend saw 3 red cards, which could have very well been avoided. The job of FA and Referee is to ensure that the game is played in the spirit. They are there to officiate and not play to the audience.
Such ridiculous and stupid decision, take the fun out of the game and irritates the players, managers and fans altogether. Idiots!!!
