Airport strike and playboy news!

Folks,

After the announcement of the privatisation of delhi and mumbai airports, the airport employees have decided to go on a strike, ofcourse with the support of communists. The strike is starting at 10 AM IST tomorrow. Plan your travel accordingly!

Source: CNN-IBN News channel!

Playboy of india has launched a news channel. I got to see a programme on this airport modernisation. There was this guy from CPI(M) and another guy from BJP. The news anchor was a lady. She amazed me to no end. I have never ever seen such a pathetic news anchor!

Whats the role of a news anchor? Indulge the guests in a conversation and keep quiet. This lady just doesnt know how to keep her mouth shut.
The CPI(M) was talking like this
Airport ya Modernisation yes should oh be given right to AAI really, and and not to private players why.

The words in italics were spoken by our lady, when the CPI(M) guy was talking. Cant she wait till the person makes a point? It is so damn irritating to follow what the guys are saying. Stupid lady!

Best part was, when the BJP guy was talking suddenly she says ‘I need to take a break‘. Tee Hee!
And immediately an ad pops up. ‘Sports Unplugged’ programme only once in a week, twice?????????????????
Can someone tell me what it means to have a programme once in a week twice?

Too much!!

idhai strike nu sollradhai vida blackmail nu sollalaam.

i guess all strikes are blackmails….

almost all govt jobs are grossly inefficient in india, i agree.

but its another thing that efficiency and privatisation need not necessarily be interlinked always…

    idukku neraya examples irukku.

    Times NOW ??

Well…it could happen due to the time lag between satellite links. Probably she was one who wasn’t experienced enough to handle this or maybe the line quality was too bad that day.

They also have a special sports news edition and Sadagopan Ramesh is the special guest here. I enjoyed this one from him today morning ‘We need to find out if Kapil Dev has any nephews’ in reference to Faisal Iqbal’s (Miandad’s nephew) century y’day :)

I pretty much got tired with these countless 24X7 news channels these days. The quality of news items hitting headlines has been diluted because of those too many 24X7 news channels and the problem is they are trying to compete with each other in sensationalising issues. Sting operations, Spy cam videos, every tom, dick & harry trying to uncover some kind of bureaucracy and corruption in society. It has started getting repetitive.

And the so-called sensational news that TIMES NOW is unearthing are those Abu Salem tapes of old for which they seem to have the exclusive access which they are hoping to get them lotsa mileage and TRP ratings and also a little hope for public that the extradition treaty could be re-neogitated to try him out on more cases than he is being tried now.

I thought it was only me. The news correspondents(mostly females, sad to know!) are just plain annoying in Times Now. They just want to ask their questions and dont seem to care about the answers. In the middle of the interview they apologize that they are run out of time and immediately break for ads! Like paper, like channel!

Our madam Barkha also belongs to this category, sometimes she indulges people in talks and walsk away with the mike to someone else.
