that day

Yesterday, I went to this Pillayar temple near my house at chennai. I went there after some 2 to 3 years. Actually I started for Vadapalani Temple, but due to some reasons couldnt make it. My mom was like ‘Kovil kku keLambittu pogaama irukka koodadhu. Atleast pakkathula irukkara piLLayar kovil kku poittu vaa’. Being an obedient and chamathu payyan, I listened to her :-D

When I went to the temple, by chance got to meet my school mate K. I met her after some 13 years or so. She had come with her 2 year old podiyan :-)

K was in a different section during school. And in my school for some strange reason guys never used to talk to girls in other sections :-( And as luck would have it, the beautiful gujili’s were in other sections. Or maybe the grass was green that side ;-)

Ok. Coming back to K, I met her once at the temple during school days. I didnt know what to talk. But very much felt like talking to her. So I went to her and asked ‘Calculus syllabus finish pannitaangaLa?’
She said ‘School open paNNi 1 week dhaane aachu. AdhukuLLe eppadi?’. Saying this she giggled. As usual I had made a fool out of myself. I hadnt joined this NIIT course of ‘How to talk to Girls’ by then :-) But then we talked for a while and left. Next day in school, we exchanged glances and an understanding smile. To say I was thrilled would be an understatement ;-)
I became more religious and started visiting the temple regularly :-D Whenever we met, we talked for a while. And after the prayers, we used to walk for a short distance, pushing the bicycle. And exchanging glances at school. Nothing more. School got over, and we drifted in different directions. Since I was in evening college, I hardly got time to go to the temple :-P .

When I met her last evening, the past came rushing back. It was a pretty nice feeling. We exchanged our contact details and promised to keep in touch. Its always nice to catch up with old friends :-)
