I was quite apprehensive about this online shopping. And after couple of experiences with fabmall, decided to stop do online shopping for ever.
I ordered 2 reading lights from fabmall last september. In the order form, asked those guys to deliver one at chennai, and one here at bangalore. They dutifully delivered this thing at chennai. But it never reached my address in bangalore
I sent around 10 mails over a period of 5 months. And finally, told them I am approaching the consumer court and legal action etc etc. Within a week I receive the reading light. Stupid guys. Unless you mention legal action, they dont do anything.
Couple of my friends, mentioned of similar experiences with other online shopping guys in India. Looks like its not trustworthy. Its better to go to the outlet and shop, rather than running behind them, in case the order is not fulfilled!

Yours might be an unfortunate case. It has always worked well for me. And beneficial too - you get some discounts on books when you order online!!!
You should have probably tried to place two orders and given separate addresses instead of splitting the delivery in a single order. It would have been less confusing (These guys really cannot handle such cases)

Agree with Vee-Jay, in the last few years I have ordered books to be delivered in India numerous times via fabmall and no problems whatsoever so far.

I haven’t had any bad experiences with online shopping till now. Btw, which address was it in Bangalore? Home or work?

Till date - other than not honouring some discount coupons that they gave me when I had made some purchases at Indiatimes shopping - I have had no issues whatsoever. But then yes, the different addresses scenario is something that I have not encountered. Probably they got confused. However, I would agree with you on one point. Issue Resolution Speed. That is so abyssmally low that you can probably go to their godown, blast their people and pick up the product on your own!

Capri.. How true!! Flowers & chocolates are safer bets than apparel or antiques when it comes to online shopping!!!! There will be a world of diff between the picture of the product & the actual product. These guys know how to sell their products well.

I had a similar experience with Fabmall. I had cancelled my order and they called back threatening to charge my credit card. Mudinjha pannikko solliten. Apparently they never took notice of the cancellation and were stuck with the product from the supplier. Downright unprofessional.
