I wanted to write about this for quite some time. RC gave me some 6 DVD’s some time back. Movies like Scent of a Woman, 12 Angry Men, Primal Fear, Good Morning Vietnam etc.
This movie 12 Angry men is amazing. A black and white movie. And the entire movie is within a single room. These 12 men are from the jury and they discuss the outcome of the case. Mindblowing!
One of the best movies I have seen in my life time!

12 Angry Men is way ahead of its time for 1957. The directors of today can learn a thing or two from it before spending money on exotic locations, computer graphics and bimbettes.

Hi Prabhu,
Long time reader, first time writer…
12 Angry men is still used in American schools, to study what is called “Group think” or “group dynamism”.
Amazing movie, also scent of a woman.
Check out Dr. Strangelove another B&W movie released around the same time, which is also about a bunch of people sitting in a “war room” and discussing er…the doom of the world!
DUH!!! WP says my comment is spam.
The movie was screened in our college as a part of “Management through Movies”. Great movie indeed.
Holla…
12 Angry Men is among those movies that I treasure a lot in my DVD collection. There are a few other brilliant movies as well… and that includes “Scent of a Woman” as well.
Surprisingly, I did not know about “12 Angry Men” and its Hindi remake “Ek Ruka Hua Faisla”. It was my grandfather who introduced me to both these movies. And I have both of them with me. Hindi version is a scene to scene copy of the english one. But somehow I loved the way Henry Fonda has potrayed a very underscored performance for such a critical role. K K Raina is not a patch on Henry Fonda’s performance. Again Pankaj Kapoor was infinitely more powerful than his American actor counterpart – Lee J Cobb.
Those who have not watched “Good Morning Vietnam” should watch it. I was taken aback by the gutsy acting of Robin Williams and the credits go to the brilliant script too. I believe it is a real life story that was made into a movie…
I saw 12 Angry Men many years back. It is one of the best made movies ever.
