Bangalore Auto- Complaint Cell
Authorities in Bangalore have started a new drive to make auto travelling safer. They have set up cells to take complaints and have promised to do something about the complaints.
For complaints against misbehaving auto drivers in Bangalore Contact the following:

When you call them / email them mention the auto registration no., Date, time and place where the problem occurred and the problem.
Dont know how effective the system is but its a start, do not hesitate to complain. Because if the system does work, travelling bangalore could be actually hassle free for everyone.

Ferro. You should have used “Bengaluru” instead of “Bangalore”. BTW, names of other towns in Karnataka are also changing. There was a news piece about this on THE HINDU on Sunday or Monday. Check it out.

Me being a native of Bangalore, now in Chennai, always felt that the autos in Bangalore are much safer to travel and they also strictly follow the meter system. But who is to set rules on Chennai auto drivers. They are the arrogant lot!

I think Baasha has already been remade in Kannada starring Vishnu Vardhan. I am not sure about the movie name but I have seen the ‘Raa Raa Raamaiyya’ song many a time. Remade the same way frame by frame.

Adhuvu thevai illai. Most of them already have a photo of Shankar Nag who acted in a movie called ‘Auto Shankar’ long back which became a hige hit amongst the auto drivers.

I dont think any complaints would help in your case. Fare meters in Chennai autos are just a showpiece item. Not for use !!! You can avail a personal loan from any of the banks to pay the auto fare those guys demand.

This is not about a particular auto. Nearly 80% of the auto drivers have wrongmeters which charge much higher then it actually should be. My current incident is about
KA02 B2495. The name of the driver is Krishan.
Could you please check this auto to see if he has a wrong meter?
I called the Banglore West Auto complaint office to register the complaint. The lady that was talking to me first asked me to come to office to register the complaint. Later she half heartedly agreed and took the auto no. She asked me about my identification. But the way she was behaving, I didn’t feel comfortable in giving her my name and address. When I asked her her identification, she also refused to give me her name.
Will this continue to be the same? The complaint offices does not take the complaint. Auto drivers do not behave properly.???????????????

I had a complaint and I sent it to the following address. dcptrafficeast@gmail.com, there was a quick response also saying that complaint has been registered, and the auto driver would be prosecuted.
I would encourage anyone who faced harrasment at the hands of auto drivers in bangalore to send you complaints along with auto registration number to this email id.

Hi,
Today morning I boarded an auto from Marutinagar, Madiwala to Shoppers stop building on the Bannerghatta Road. Daily I go by auto and it is a 3 km journey. It will cost you 18 to 20 Rs. But the meter showed 25 Rs and I tried to argue but he refused to hear. I felt really bad. People are not cooperating, Pls do some needful for me.

Hi, today morning I had to fight with an auto guy KA 05 A 6280 who stands near the 4th block Jayanagar.
I got down from the bus here which come from Kundapur and asked the autos to take me to HSR layout. Most of the autos charged 150. but this guy said I’ll come for meter. After sometime I saw his meter jumping like anything. befor 2 KM it was showing Rs15 and then 16.50. I said there is somtime wrong with the meter and got down to cach another auto. he almost fought with asking me to give Rs16.50. I also fought and managed to ive only Rs12.
please take necessary action against this auto driver.

Hi,
I came to bangalore from Chennai by Lalbagh express on 16th Aug. The train reached approx 30 min late at 9:35PM. I went to take an auto from prepaid counter in Contonment Station. There were 3 police men who told the counter is closed and go and find auton on my own and told I need to pay 1.5times meter. I need to go to R.T. Nagar. I tried calling for an auto no one is ready to come to RTNGR as it is not more than 5KM from there. Few auto fellows demanded Rs 80-100. I told them I pay 1.5times the meter. The auto fellow with Reg No KA05D 6825 asked for Rs 100. I told I can pay 70 as meter comes approx Rs35-38 to my place. He told no. I told I will go and complain to the police who is at prepaid countr. He started shouting and started using bad words in Hindi like “Tere amma ge gaand etc” and told go and complain to commissioner I am not scared and tried to raise his hand. He looks liek drunken at that time as I could smell alchohal when he came closer. Then I stepped not pick up fight. I got an auto for Rs.70 (which is more or less double meter) ans the address of that auto fellow shows RT Nagar. I could see lot other passengers also struggli to find an auto with “No help from Police”. I do not know why pre-paid counter is there at all? I request you to take appropriate action on that auto fellow and inform relevant authorities to make the per-paid counter operations better.

This is to bring to your notice about the misbehavior of an autodriver (Girish. T), Whose meter was incredibly Wrong. The metre was not moving as per the distance covered (It showed 10-15 Rs Extra than the usual). Also the metre was moving very quickly when he had stopped the engine in a signal.
This is the first time I am seeing a meter that keep on changing when the engine is fully stopped. Hope you would take neccessary action against him.

Date:21/9/2006 9:15 A.M from Maruthinagar to Airport Road (Usual rate is Rs 49-50..he asked 60 Rs from me..)
He also has an old meter..He doesnot have a License Display Sytem hanged on his Auto..so i couldnot get his details.
I am sure you would take the necessary action against these autos to make our travels safer in the city.

The Auto # KA25A3250 is charging more fare. To go from Koramangala to Banaswadi takes me less than 85 Rs. The Auto meter showed 95 Rs when questioned he answered very rudely told me that you should have gone in electronic metered auto and misbehaved. This happened at 6 pm.
None of the auto meters are correct. Is there any one to check these people. This is my 25 complaint and I see no measures taken on these auto drivers.
