Peace Process

What a success for the peace process eh? Open the border, withdraw the army, leave buses. And what happens? On the eve of diwali and id, innocent people are killed!
Where are the human rights activists? Where is Arundhati Roy? Any one with atleast little bit of common sense will understand what needs to be done. But will our media or politicians understand? Its not even 48 hours since the bomb blasts happened.
We have an editorial in the hindu for peace talks between central government and ULFA, Assam. Brilliant!!!
Dissolve the army, police forces etc. Go kiss the terrorists, give roses to criminals. Have candle light dinner with rapists. All problems in the world will be solved!

I totally agree whats the point of peace process, lets all stick to law of an eye for an eye. Forget about the families which have been split up Thanks to the LOC, whats the point of opening it up so that the parents can see their married daughters a few miles away.

If we stick to being stronger and not open the borders and forget about the peace process that will stop the terrorists for sure

    Prabhu
    you have nailed it again.
As much we all want peace, there is now a question at what cost.
How far should india go,when the other side hasnt reached to us ,but yet it is India blamed for everything.

Sad state, this is wake up call again.

  5. Cacaphonix,
    :-)

    Jeevan,
    Thanks and same to you!

  6. WA,
Agreed upon the point of mothers meeting daughters. But at the same time ask those mothers whether they are worried about the life of their daughters or about meeting them?
These terrorists have utilised the earthquake and infiltrated into India and killed so many innocent people. Till Pakistan stops cross border terrorism, we cant allow the border to be opened!

Peace process will work with people who have sense. Do terrorists have any sense?Peace is DEFINITELY not the way terrorism can be solved. Show me one place in the world where peace has solved terrorism?

  7. Ganesh,
I really pity the innocent people who died. Saw their pictures on television. It was extremely sad!

Exactly. Our leaders dont have backbones. adaan problem.
You can’t solve problems by shaking hands with yr enemy.
And the real tragedy is, we’ve all got so used to it and desensitised to it that none barring u have mentioned it.

(off topic, sorry i cud not turn up as planned y’day. a visit by a close friend and other guests settled the matter)

  9. pk,
You should have come sir :-)

    Ferrari,
interestingly some of the indian associations in US are selling movie/dinner tickets for diwali the proceeds of which will go to Pakistan!! :O Hearing that reminded me of your post.

While i do empathise with the earthquake survivors(whenever some calamity hits, it always hits the voiceless and the poor), some of my Pakistani friends themselves admit and lament the fact donations are terribly pocketed by corrupt bureaucrats and are careful about sending relief money.
