Chennai Airport is fully functional
KSRTC and TNSTC are running special buses every 2 hours to clear the rush. No advance reservation required. Buses to chennai are plying in the normal route(via chitoor or hosur)
Train services are slowly starting in chennai central. The rain water seems to have receded around chennai central and basin bridge junction. So they have started to operate some trains. Decision on bangalore trains havent been taken yet. Around 11 AM, the situation should be clear.

Hey Prabhu,The Indian Express says all trains from B’lore to Chennai have been cancelled today.

As per the status in the morning, all the trains are cancelled. But now that the situation in Chennai is improving with the water receding, a few trains have started from chennai today. So, we are just hoping that the situation improves further so that they can run the Bangalore-Chennai trains for tonight.

Oh!That should be gr8 news for all you guys.Anyway with bus services being expanded that too without advance reservation,going to chennai should not be a problem even if train services are cancelled.

There’s Air Deccan and for 1773/= it wasn’t bad to travel by a 737. I thought it must be a glider plane. My flight was delayed for a few hours and there were repeated calls for security check for dc-131, I got a bit frustrated and went straight up to the check in counter to ask when is dc-103 going to take off, She said “Sir, it’s cancelled and you go by dc-131″.
I asked her “How do you expect me to know all this without any announcement?”
She said “don’t bother about the number, she said Chennai nah, then you can go”
