Saturday afternoon I reached home by 4 or so. Seeing me, Bruno came running from a pit nearby. There were lots of small kids nearby and they started saying ‘Hey maadi veetu naai. Maadi veetu naai’. I think they were referring to Bruno only

There was a Kannadiga poet called Rajarathinam who used to write songs for children just like our Valliappa. One of the songs he wrote was “Naayee maari, naayee maari, enu beku…”(What do u want puppy?), a popular rhyme among children.
Once he went to a function and suddenly a kid shouted, “There goes Naaye maari Rajarathinam!”. There was a stunned silence, but the great man broke the ice himself and started laughing. The whole crowd followed.
