At present we have 4 sports channels. Star Sport, Espn, Ten Sports & DD Sports(!!).
Yesterday, there was an interesting tennis match(French Open) going on and promptly Ten Sports switched to cricket. A stupid match between West Indies and Pakistan. It was highly irritating.
There was a Maria Sharapova match last night. Booooo Hooooo :-((
And I sincerely pray no cricket matches are there in the next season of EPL, and current season of F1.
I think we need more sports channels, so that people get to choose and see what they want!
This Ten Sports has bagged the rights for World Cup Football. But I have no clue what they will do, if there are more than 1 matches at the same time

Hope we need not hav the fear of missing F1 races as long as it is in the safe hands of ESPN STAR…but then i noticed too many ad breaks in sterday’s race due to which many incidents were missed..a bit annoying..
S..Ten sports is a useless channel
Sharapova’s match..tuff one.
But i don’t mind missing french open matches as it isn’t the league of the other 3 grand slam events..those clay courters..

I agree that Ten Sports is not as good as the other two we have. But if they bag the rights for some good events, you got no choice but to sit and watch them. Just like this one…French Open. Irrespective of the fact that it is in the league of the other slams, some of the matches are way better to watch than the Pak-WI test match that got over yday. The game was all over except for some Afridi’s fireworks which is good enough for the next day’s highlights package.
It was a quite a draw yday at French Open.
Federer v Moya (though it was a complete rout later)
Nadal v Grosjean (to be completed today)
Dementieva v Likhotseva
Clijsters v Davenport

*Irrespective of the fact that it is in the league of the other slams OR NOT..
and btw, Sharapova’s match got completed today and I am sure you are at office and missed today’s action too
But the Ferrer-Gaudio which is going on right now seems to be heading for a 5 set thriller.
The other big one going on right now is Coria v Davydenko.
Being a Memorial Day holiday in US, I can’t help but think of going home early to catch some tennis action.
Ciao!

Guyz! saw the Safin-Robredo game sterday??…Typical marat mystery..At one pt he is at his attacking best where the oppenent need not attempt to make a return..and at another..he misses the easiest of volleys…but then he cudnt stop an inspired robredo in the last game where he was serving for the match 40-30 with a lead of 7 games to 6..
Game,Set ‘n’ Match Tommy Robredo!!
Waiting for the semi’s showdown betn Federer and Nadal!!

Arun,
That was ana amzing match. But me feeling very bad for Safin. Cha

Safin-Robredo was a great match. Safin as he does many times self-destructed. But as usual I enjoyed his post-match comments - “Luck made the difference. I’ve had a lot of luck. If I didn’t I’d be washing bottles in Russia.”
If he had won, it would have been an all Russian quarter final with Davydenko upsetting Coria. But Robredo-Davydenko still looks very good. With Coria gone, the bottom half of the draw looks very much open.

And in one point, they called Robredos shot wide. But Safin had hit the shot for a winner. Then umpire called Safin aside and asked him about the replay of the point. Safin placed his hand on the umpires shoulders and smiled. The entire stadium applauded Safin’s action.
Sigh! He lost
